Template Contest
The work at the completely new developed version 0.7 of EQdkp Plus is progressing well, at least concerning the programming tasks. Concerning the templates, we would appreciate your help. Due to us developers giving support every day, we see loads of really nice looking custom styles in your systems. As a consequence, we decided to start a template contest in cooperation with allvatar.com and Plantronics.
This is the chance for you to turn in your custom styles to us and to win some nice prizes. Our community will rate them and vote for their top styles. But the final decision will be made by our core development team based on the technique and the cleanliness of your code.
This means that your chances in hitting one of the first places will be much grater if your template is based on CSS/divs and you tested it with all common browsers.
And now on to the prizes:
- Places 1 and 2 each win a Plantronics Gamecom 777, which is a Dolby 5.1 Surround Sound gaming headset worth 100€
- Places 3 and 4 each win a Teamspeak server for your guild sponsored by allvatar.com
- Places 1 to 5 win a lifetime premium key of EQdkp Plus
- Your template will be part of EQdkp Plus 0.7
- Perpetuate your or your guild's name by giving the template your/your guild's name
- Take part in the closed beta test of EQdkp Plus 0.7
Participation conditions:
- The contest runs until 1st of November
- Create a template for EQdkp Plus 0.6
- Modern CSS/div-based templates have higher chances
- The template should differ from the current templates in a little bit more than just another logo and/or other colors
- The template should correspond to the general conditions of EQdkp Plus. This means that the CSS classes already used in the template files have to be reused. The template should be based on only a new CSS code and a modified page_header.html. Changing templates of the sub-pages should be avoided
- Only use graphics that have no licensing issues. If you are unsure about that, please contact us since we have good connections to most of the MMO companies (Blizzard, Turbine, etc.)
- The template will be released under our EQdkp Plus license. There will neither be rights nor duties for you if the template is included with EQdkp Plus 0.7
- Post a link to the EQdkp Plus with you template in this thread.
- Additionally, send a zip file with your template to corgan@eqdkp-plus.com

Despite the summer slowdown and the continued hot temperatures, we have a new release for you.
Due to the Beta launch of WoW Cataclysm, we have created a new background image for the Luna Template, which replaces the old Ulduar Wallpaper.
Also, we ajusted the itemstats icon's URL to their new wowhead's URL so that the icons will now appear again.
Additionaly, EQkdkp Plus now supports Startrek Online as game, so you can manage your STO-guild easily with EQdkp Plus now.
We're pround of offering finally EQdkp Plus in two more languages. With the help of our community and our new Translation Tool, we can now offer EQdkp Plus and all Plugins and Modules in Spanish and French!

If you liked the old wallpaper or want to create an individual wallpaper for the Luna Template, you can use the Photoshop file we uploaded for you. You'll find two different versions of the image saved as snapshots.
Save your created image with the name template_background.jpg and put it into the folder /games/WoW/.
Put the finished image into the folder /games/WoW/ and name it to template

Preview EQdkp-Plus 0.7 - Maintenance
Anyone who had to make a major update in EQdkp Plus 0.6 knows how annoying it can be, executing all neccessary system and plugin-updates. But with our Version 0.7 we introduce a new maintenance area, which offers several advantages:
System and plug-in updates:
While previously each plugin- or system-update has to executed on their own, now one button updates the whole EQdkp Plus system and all plugins to the latest database version.
Maintenance Mode:
Admins can put the system into maintenance mode. Normal users can't login and use the EQdkp-Plus, so the Admin has time to configure the system or to try out new styles.
Support User:
Some problems with the EQdkp-Plus can be solved better if a developer or a supporter with admin rights is able to login. That's why we implemented the maintenance-user. This user has automatically superadmin-permissions, but is only valid for a choosen period of time and will be deleted automatically from the system.
Preview EQdkp-Plus 0.7- Userprofile
As promised in the last news, we want to introduce in the next few weeks new features and functionality coming with EQdkp-Plus version 0.7. This week, we present you the advanced user management and user profile.
The EQdkp-Plus has become more than a pure DKP management long time ago. There were times when the focus was on individual chars you assigned DKP and the user had only his login, but now there's a person behind the char.
In the future, the player moves more and more in our focus. That's why we created a new user account profile.
You can now deposite all inportant information at your User-Settings. These can be contact and communication details, such as Messenger, Email oder Social Networks, but also personal information such as interests and hardware or a photo from you.
We are working with full speed on the 0.7 version, which is written almost completely new. Therefore, a public beta version will take some time. Please do not ask when there will be a beta or stable release.

At the moment we are working hard on the new EQdkp Plus Version 0.7 which has nearly been completely rewritten. That is the reason why an Open-Beta will take some time, till it starts, but we think now is the right moment to give you a first view at some of the features.

To use EQdkp Plus 0.7 it is necessary that PHP 5.2 runs on your server.
Furthermore we wantto let you know, to avoid missunderstandings, that version 0.7 won't be able to install as an update. Because of massive changes, including changes in the database structure, you have to do a new install. Of course your data is not lost! We'll provide a tool to easily import the old data into your new system.
To beautify the time till release, we will introduce (presumably) a new feature every week. You have to keep in mind, that all the pictures are taken from the current alpha-version and the design, but also the functionality, could change. The first feature we will show you today are User-Groups and their management.

The world is like a village. Although many people understand english it feels a lot better to read his own language. That's the reason why we start a new Translating-Tool, written by Godmod basing on an early Alpha of 0.7, for EQdkp-Plus. The big difference compared to the old-version is that it's possible, on the base of version 0.7, to insert Russian or Chinese strings, because 0.7 will finally support UTF8 natively.
As you may know from the old Translating-Tool you can select the most common languages and then send proposals of your translations to us. A "Language-Validator" can afterwards accept them.
The whole Translating-Tool works with newest Ajax-Technology, so you can easily translate the EQdkp-Plus. Just enter your Translation, press enter and then you are automatically in the next field to enter your next translation.
