I found ample information to let me know that SSO is not supported at this time.

I also found: post51960.html?hilit=single%20sign%20on#p51960

and I will be checking it out to see if I can modify their idea to work for my configuration.

The primary reason for this post is to find out when SSO will be supported for phpbb3.

In the grand scheme of things this is a critical component to a properly integrated website.

Also we wouldn't have to use e107cookie as the name, well im not going to because i can just change it, if you added a cookie name in the eqDKP-plus config right where you assign the cookie domain.

Might I recommend a solution similar to the one phpraider uses. It's clean, simple, and way more accurate than most SSO code because it always checks instead of caching their own record.

SSO will come with 0.7 for some boards.
And no, SSO is not as eays as everybody says. Many boards have secuiry-functions, so you can't use cookies or snoopy classes. That's why you we have to rebuild the whole login-process of the board in order to create a valid session. And that's not easy, because every board has different login-procedures.

Thx.

any idea on when that version will be released?

Also I found this file in the bridge folder:
phpbb3.sso.class.php.

I checked it and it looks like its an attempt to do a SSO, but I don't see this code being called when i do a debug on the website.

If you look at phpraider's code what they have done is they wrote login scripts basically. So instead of you logging into phpraider you actually login to the CMS. You may want to check it out. The code is clean and simple and could easily be converted over to eqdkp-plus.

Now phpraider's code isn't perfect, but it;'s clean and simple. Plus you could always expand on it later down the line if you wanted to sync up user groups between eqdkp-plus and phpbb3.

Know the example, will not be used. The phpbb3.sso was an idea, not more. 0.7 will use a different approach. No release time / date known. Sorry no time for more...

I ran across this website.
But I'm not sure if it will really work.
Anyone tried this or know anything?

Once there was a user using this thing, but i wouldn't pay for it, since the joomla bridge works fine and the SSO doesn't justify the costs

This cannot come fast enough. It is the number one complaint my users have of our website that they have to login to both the forums and the portal. The end result is people never even see the portal because if they are going to login one place it's going to be the forums or I have deal with people saying they lost their forum permissions and of course it's simply because they haven't logged into the forums. Any idea on time frame for this?
