This seemed to have only appeared very recently.

When I run dkp_list.php AND getdkp.php, both get me <br> before the start of the needed string.

It seems like I was stupid enough to edit some files in /itemstats/ (because icons weren't working) and that created the error log display.

Except the error log display also failed, and didn't display a message, but added an extra <br> at the start of the page.
