I was just thinking if it would be easier for everyone to have an export feature in EQDKP to be able to copy and paste in-game everybody's DKP.

It would be manual, yes, but it would also mean you can constantly pull the latest DKP from the website anytime, in-game.

When DKP is spent, you input the value spent (something like MRT does), Announce it and also subtract it from whoever won the item and continue on with the raid. Visually see how much DKP is left from that person and also be able to give them the access to request their current DKP after they spent DKP, via whisper request (something GetDKP already does) or via reporting it to raid, guild, party chat, similar to how a Damage Meter reports it.

Then after the raid has finished, you can export it as you normally would do (like MRT does). And start the whole process again.

This would remove the hassle of having an .exe file in the addon, and forcing people to do that whole procedure.

Within the addon you could also state something like: This export is X days, X hours, old.

AFAIK WoW cannot access the local file system in the way it would be needed (create the "dkp_list.lua").
You could solve this problem by writing an interpreter. Well have fun with that :D
The benefit wouldn't legitimate its effort.

You can achieve this by doing the following:
a) run dkp.exe (while the game is running)
b) reload the UI ingame after dkp.exe finished.

If you don't want to use the .exe - maybe you think it is unsafe or whatever - then you can copy&paste the output of getdkp.php and push it into a file called "...\Interface\Addons\GetDKP\GetDKPData\dkp_list.lua".

Can you not input data such as XML or plain text in-game to converted by the addon to be shown as a content such as a DKP list? Maybe I wasn't clear, but that's what I meant.

The same way the addon generates an XML export to be copy & pasted onto the website, but in reverse. So the EQDKP website generates a XML data to be copy pasted into in-game. Which then is stored in the .lua file and then saved. I assumed that was possible.

Perhabs we are not talking about the same aspects, but isn't an automated update process for your local DKP easier to use than manual updating with copy and paste? Even hustling around with tabbing to desktop should be more effort than just running a programm fetching your points. And the export function of the raidtrackers on the market are all kind of easy to use, no?

On the second thought: No data is written to local files while your wow client is ingame. So if you would copy data in, don't log out or reload the UI a crash would kill all the data and you need to copy the files again.

If you love manual work, just hop to your getdkp.php data and download the info to your local dkp list file of getdkp.

I just don't get the usability portion of the wish? Perhabs u can help me a litte.

That IS possible. But - as I said - you'd have to write an interpreter for that, and this would be a huge effort.
On the other hand EQDKP already converts the MySQL data into LUA (via getdkp.php), so no more conversion takes place.
As Ghoschdi I don't see the usability either.
